Azeri Pick-Up

At the Tbilisi Grand Slam, Aibek Uulu (KGZ) used a relatively rare and unusual pick-up technique normally associated with Azerbaijan players.

His right arm goes over uke’s right shoulder, Georgian Grip style. Meanwhile, his left hand goes across uke’s chest and he scoops uke up for a massive pick-up throw.

This is a relatively new phenomenon and in the past, it was the Azerbaijan players who did it.

Looks like it’s starting to spread in popularity.
