On to the Olympics!
A short video chronicling my time at a training camp, at home and my journey to Japan.
They say a pictures says a thousand words so perhaps a video says a million. As such, I will let the video do most of the talking. Here are just a few key highlights to point out:
For our training camp in Soustons, we each had our own rooms (no sharing). The food was good, and it was light because some players had to watch their weight ahead of the Olympics.
It was only the women’s team. The men’s team weren’t with us but we did have some male cadets and juniors with us. It was great training with them.
We were constantly tested for Covid-19. Safety comes first.
After the camp, I stayed at home. I didn’t go out as I didn’t want to risk getting any infections. I was happy to do exercises at home and spending quality time with my pets.
I will miss my pets when I’m in Japan. i even had a CCTV installed so I can see them on my phone when I’m not at home. A good friend will be taking care of them while I’m in Japan.
Because it was my birthday when I flew to Japan, Air France upgraded me to Business Class. It was awesome. They even presented me with a birthday card signed by their staff.
Before going to Tokyo, we were in Himeji, a city in the Kansai region of Japan. The people there were super friendly and welcoming. They treated us like royalty. I was so touched by their kindness.
We head out to the Olympic Village on Wednesday.
